What’s the difference between indica vs sativa?

The two main types of marijuana are the indica and sativa strains. Both strains contain THC, the psychoactive property in marijuana and have a range of effects on the mind and body.

Cannabis indica originates from central Asia and India. It typicaly has dense buds with pungent aromas. Cannabis Indica provides more of a head high, sometimes referred to as a spiritual high. It is commonly used to treat insomnia, chronic pain, anxiety and loss of appetite.

Cannabis Sativa is thought to have originated in Thailand, southern Africa and Mexico. Its buds tend to be lighter in weight and have subtle fruity aromas such as red fruits and citrus. Cannabis sativa provides a more energizing experience often consumed during the day. It is commonly used to treat depression, fatigue and sometimes to encourage creativity and prevent a lack of focus.
